Founded in 1998, RIM began its activity in the waterproofing and refurbishment of private buildings. Over almost three decades it has progressively broadened its capabilities, the areas in which it operates and the scale of the projects it delivers.
Today, the RIM Group operates in three complementary areas: engineering and construction, real estate development, and concessions and operations. Engineering and construction remain at the heart of its identity and the foundation of everything the Group does.
1998
RIM begins its activity in the waterproofing and refurbishment of private buildings. These skills were at the origin of the company and remain part of its technical expertise.
2011
Creation of a department complementary to construction, dedicated to the sale and installation of hydraulic and electromechanical equipment, solar systems, compact wastewater treatment plants and other technical solutions.
2012
Start of RIM's internationalisation process, with entry into the Venezuelan market.
2021
Creation of RIMPORT, a RIM Group company operating in Lisbon and in the mainland Portugal market. It strengthens the Group's presence and delivery capacity outside the Autonomous Region of Madeira.

The RIM Group expands its activity into concessions and operations through the concession of the Porto Santo Marina. The operation is run by Marina PXO – Atividades Náuticas, S.A., a company created by RIM – Engenharia e Construção. This milestone marks the Group's entry into the management and operation of nautical infrastructure.
